Having the "high ground" is an important concept, not only to Star Wars but to life. It's all about perspective. If you're having a problem at work and you can't see the forest for the trees, you need to get on high ground. If you're having a relationship issue and just can't stop bickering about nothing, then you need to get on the high ground. 

If your cat is constantly annoyed at you for trying to pet her, you need to battle her for the high ground. Having the high ground means having the advantage. It means gaining the perspective on a hairy issue. It means zooming out to see what's actually going on. This is just one phrase that Star Wars has given us that we can now be empowered to use in our everyday lives. We love Star Wars so much that it seeps into moments when we're not watching it.
